Art and Acting with Puppets: More Highlights!

CAMP BILL

In memory of Susan Riddiford Shedd, founding member of the Nittany Valley Shakespeare Company, we are proud to present “Camp Bill.” Campers will bring the works of William Shakespeare to life through voice, movement, dance, puppetry and text, as well as exercises used by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Cost: $150 ($25 discount for additional siblings.)

PUPPET CAMP the MUSICAL!

By popular demand: singing and dancing, with puppets! Campers will design and build their own puppets to use in a unique musical theater production at the end of the week. We’ll focus on using music, movement, acting, and teamwork to tell a story.

Cost: $200 ($25 discount for additional siblings.)

After-camp care available Mon.-Thurs. 3-5:30 p.m. Cost: $10 / day

ART and ACTING with PUPPETS

Campers will play acting games, create art in several dimensions from many materials, try cool technology, learn history, write, perform, and collaborate as they share and develop their talents. Campers will be challenged to “think outside the socks” as they gain a better understanding of puppetry: past, present, and future.

Cost: $200 ($25 discount for additional siblings.)

After-camp care available Mon.-Thurs. 3-5:30 p.m. Cost: $10 / day

Payment in full will be expected on or before the first day of camp. Refunds will be given for extenuating circumstances. Thank you!

Musikgarten Summer Camp for ages 4-7

Nature's Trail

Join us as we experience nature through songs and musical activities. Each day will have a different theme allowing us to explore various habitats, listen to a variety of animal sounds, and create crafts from natural objects. Instrument play, dance, movement, storytelling, and puppetry (in conjunction with the older Puppet Camp) will fill up the week for your child, culminating in a mini-performance at the end of the week.

The Seashore

The seashore is a magical place full of the wonders of the natural world. Over the course of five days, we will become acquainted with the sounds, stories, and movements of various animals that can be found at the seashore. Our songs and poems will transport us there, and our art activities will serve as reminders of our journey. Your child will be able to share their experience with you at the end-of-the-week mini-performance.

Camp Information

Parents of campers:

"It was their favorite week of camp all summer. We also watched the dvd last night--so funny and terrific! We were laughing and all agreed we would subscribe to that show if you made it a regular you tube channel event!! Friday's show was so fun. We also really appreciated the individual awards and the time Kathy took to acknowledge each child and describe their contributions to the camp experience. That was really special."

"...fantastic time at Puppet Camp again this year - even more fun than last year.  You both have such a great rapport with the kids and the kids feel like you are totally engaged with them.  We watched the video over the weekend and truly enjoyed it.  Adam, you are totally one with your puppet and the kids see and feel that - what a wonderful model for them. Can't wait until next summer!"
